Tuesday 2 February 2010
Life insurer Swiss Life has acquired the Lighthouse office project in the Rhein area of Düsseldorf-Derendorf, Germany for approximately €30 million.
The seller is Lighthouse Development, a joint venture comprised of developer Projektentwicklung and Rheinmetall Immobilien. Swiss Life signed a preliminary agreement to acquire the six-storey asset in December 2009. The project, which is currently 75%-prelet, will offer around 11,000 m² of space, of which about 9,500 m² is for offices.

Last week, Swiss Life bought a recently developed office building in Hamburg from Hochtief Construction for an undisclosed amount. Located in Hamburg- Ochsenzoll, the NordexForum asset is an environmentally friendly building with a Gold Certificate from the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB). The property will provide around 15,000 m² of office space on completion by the end of 2010. It is fully leased to the Nordex Group with a long-term rental agreement.
