On 7 and 8 September 2006, the European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA) Annual Conference 2006 was held, in the beautiful Corinthia Hotel in Budapest, Hungary. Over 300 highly qualified professionals participated, of which many came from the USA.
The opening remarks were made by Serge Fautré , Chairman of the EPRA, followed by a speech of Joseph K. Azelby of JPMorgan Asset Management. He stated that real estate has become an enormous asset class, comparable to the S&P500 Standard. He also spoke about the rising markets in India, were for the past years the GDP has grown 9% in a consistent manner.
