Salboy and DOMIS launch €98.9m resi development in Manchester (GB)

Salboy Group, in partnership with construction firm DOMIS, has announced the launch of a new residential development in Manchester's Greengate district. The c. €98.9m project, named Obsidian, features a 26-storey tower which will house 250 residential units. The breakdown includes 30 studios, 93 one-bedroom apartments, 110 two-bedroom apartments, and 15 three-bedroom apartments.

Obsidian's amenities include a private dining room, a gym, a cinema room, coworking spaces, and package storage facilities. The ground floor of the building will also offer 1,000m2 of commercial space, further integrating the residential development into the urban fabric of the city.

Located on a previously undeveloped brownfield site, the project is being constructed by DOMIS and will be marketed and sold by Salboy. Construction has already commenced, and completion is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.

Simon Ismail, managing director at Salboy said: “The schemes we develop with younger professional people in mind are often some of the most complex and creative, bringing together modern designs, compact inner-city locations and our future residents’ discerning tastes. We are delighted to return to Greengate, an area whose overdue regeneration we have been involved with for more than seven years.”

This development is expected to further contribute to the revitalisation of the Greengate district, bridging the gap between these twin cities.
